"Ferb, come over here! You won't believe this!"
Ferb looked up from writing his letter to Emily and saw Phineas sitting at the computer, gesturing for him to look at the screen. He stood up and walked over to his stepbrother.
"Look at this. 'Feretchen'." Phineas pointed to the screen. Ferb's eyes grew larger than usual.
"People on our Fanon think you're in love with her just because you stand next to her once in a while! Ridiculous!"
Ferb looked over to the letter he had been writing to Emily. Phineas nodded. "I know what you're thinking. Vanessa, right? Why would anybody think you love Gretchen when Vanessa kissed you?"
The door to the boy's bedroom opened and Isabella entered the room. "Hey Phineas, watcha doooin?" she asked sweetly.
"Some people on our Fanon think that Ferb is in love with Gretchen, your fireside girl! Don't tell her, she'll be enraged."
Isabella's mouth fell open. "I'll go tell Ginger!" she cried and ran out of the room.
"What are you going to do, bro?" Phineas asked.
Ferb rang the doorbell on Gretchen's house. He didn't know how he would do this without talking much, and without people thinking that he was dating her.
It was Gretchen's mother who opened the door. When she saw him, she looked surprised. "Hello, you're Isabella's boyfriend's stepbrother, aren't you?"
"Oh, I see, here to see Gretchen, eh? Well come on in. She's in her room, upstairs, first door on the right."
Ferb nodded and headed up the stairs.
"Ferb, what are you doing here, people will think...." Gretchen sighed. "Never mind."
Ferb wondered how Gretchen knew.
She sat on her bed. "It's not like I don't hate you. I don't, really. It's just that I'm not in love with you. And I know you already like a girl, that... goth chick."
Ferb looked at the floor and touched the letter in his pocket.
"Well, see ya, Ferb." Gretchen said, standing up. "I have to finish my homework."
As Ferb walked home, he was stopped by Irving.
"What's that in your pocket, Ferb?" Irving asked with a sly look on his face.
Ferb figured that there was no harm in showing him the letter. He pulled it out of his pocket and gave it to Irving.
"Writing to the British girl again, huh?" Irving grinned. "See ya, Ferb!" he cried, throwing the letter back.
"Ferb, look at this! Femily! Where'd they get that idea in their heads?"
